BEST SELLING SAINT CLARE OF ASSISI PENDANT

Saint Clare Medals

When suffering from eye diseases we often pray to Saint Clare for her intercession and are reminded of her great works and piety with a necklace with her image and name and the request to pray for us.

Even as a young child Saint Clare was devoted to Christ and spent much of her time in prayer. At the age of 18, although committed arranged marriage, she befriended Saint Francis of Assisi and he helped her to realize her dream of a life fully devoted to Christ.

And so she began the Order of the Poor Ladies which was run in the Franciscan tradition. St. Francis cut off her hair and gave her a rough brown habit to wear, tied with a plain cord around her waist. St. Clare and her sisters wore no shoes, ate no meat, lived in a poor house, and kept silent most of the time. Yet they were very happy because Our Lord was close to them all the time.

Her feast day is August 11th.
