A Saint Valentine's medal necklace is the perfect gift for your spouse to celebrate Valentine's Day. Chocolates and roses don't last long, but a marriage built on prayer for one another does!
Valentine was a holy priest in Rome during the rule of Claudius the Cruel. Discouraged by the low enrollment of men to fight in his wars, Claudius forbid all engagements and marriages so that men would have fewer attachments to discourage their military involvement. Valentine bucked the law and continued to perform marriage ceremonies in secret. When Roman authorities discovered his illegal activities, St. Valentine suffered martyrdom through beheading in 278 AD.
St. Valentine's feast day is February 14, and he is the patron saint of love, young people, marriages.
