Also known as Isabelle of France. Saint Isabella was born a princess of a very wealthy and noble family. From an early age, she wished for nothing more than to become a nun and serve in the Franciscan order. She was engaged to be married to several powerful men over time and refused them all as she wished to remain a virgin.
Although she never did become a nun, this allowed her to keep her wealth which she used to maintain the monastery and continued to give to the poor.
Her feast day is February 22nd.
