The color is darker than the picture, but it wasn't a problem for me. It looks better than expected. It doesn't seem to be stained or painted.

If you have a large wrist, this may be too small. I have small wrists, so it's a bit loose. My dad tried it on with average wrists, and it was just at the point where it wouldn't move around at all.

The string is elastic, so the bracelet will stretch but would probably feel tight.
